Appointments

Contact our office to schedule an appointment on the form below and discover natural approaches to healing.

On your first visit, we will conduct a comprehensive exam that will take approximately one and a half hours. First, you will be asked to fill out a thorough intake form and then we will gather more information by questioning, palpating the pulse and abdomen and examining the tongue. I will also palpate specific areas of pain looking for tenderness and tight bands of tissue.

The next part of your visit is the acupuncture treatment itself. Needles will be inserted into various points along certain meridian pathways. Because meridians traverse the entire body, sometimes needles will be placed in areas that may not include your main complaint. For example, if you are experiencing back pain, you can expect a number of needles placed in your legs or arms which relate to the back according to Chinese medicine. The number of needles varies from session to session but on average we use between 10-25 needles. You can expect to lay comfortably on the treatment table for 30-60 mins.  The average time is 45minutes.  A standard course is 10-12 weekly or biweekly treatments.

Patients are unaware of the needles and usually, find this time to be very relaxing and calming.

Following the initial treatment, we will discuss recommendations for your care, expectations, and an acupuncture treatment plan. A standard course is 8-10 weekly treatments, however, a trial course of 3-5 treatments is recommended to make sure acupuncture works for you. If you are experiencing a significant amount of pain or your symptoms are severe, you will be seen 2-3 times a week until the symptoms stabilize. In chronic or complex cases, you may need ongoing care for several months.

We may use other techniques such as gua sha, cupping, moxabustion or far infrared heat as indicated. See an explanation of these treatments. If indicated, we will also recommend dietary modifications and exercises for your condition.

Follow up treatments generally, take 45mins to 1 hour. After each session, green tea is provided to support the treatments.

Success Stories

"I had intense neck pain and could barely turn my head to either side. I had previously had neck manipulations, steroid pain injections, and physical therapy, and nothing gave me relief. My daughter suggested I come to KK, and try acupuncture. During the first session, I could turn my head with little pain. After several visits, I could turn my head with no pain. I would recommend KK and acupuncture to anyone who is in pain. Don’t worry about the needles, they are not as bad as you think."

"I was in a lot of pain, not sleeping well, and could hardly walk. After my first two sessions, I felt some relief. At the end of three weeks, I was completely pain free and sleeping all night. I was shocked and very happy, that I let KK treat me. I feel a lot better, and my overall health is better. I would recommend KK to anyone looking for pain relief or just to have an overall better feeling. Thanks so much for your help."

"I was diagnosed with occipital neuralgia and suffer from severe migraines, and awful upper shoulder muscle pain. For years, I had been getting occipital injections, but they were no longer working. I had gone to pain management for a year and tried numerous treatments, none of which gave me any relief.  I came to see KK, and I am finally getting some real, lasting relief. KK’s cupping, is the first thing that has worked to get rid of my shoulder pain in years! It’s AMAZING!"

 Testimonials

"I’ve been using acupuncture for the last 30 years to help manage my chronic neck and back pain in a healthier and more conservative approach.

After 13 years of working with an acupuncturist in Cranberry PA, I decided to seek a practitioner closer to home, but it was extremely important that the quality of care be equally beneficial.

It’s been almost 2 years since I began treatment with KK and I cannot express enough gratitude in making the right choice.

Not only has KK honored the age-old wisdom of acupuncture, but he has brought a fresh and new approach to a better healthcare for me.  Suggestions that have contributed to an overall well being that has improved my quality of life, despite the medical issues I deal with on a daily basis.

I would highly recommend him and his team to anyone seeking a positive direction in dealing with their health care and well being."
